How do I get access from WD MyCloud Home to Sonos

You can access music stored on a WD My Cloud Home from Sonos, but it must be configured as a local SMB (Samba) network share. Sonos cannot browse your My Cloud Home through your WD cloud account—it accesses the files directly over your home network.

How to connect WD My Cloud Home to Sonos

Enable Local Network Access (SMB)

Sign in to your My Cloud Home dashboard.

Enable Local Network Access (SMB).

Create or confirm a local username and password for the share.

Place your music in a shared folder

Store your music in a folder such as:

Media Files/My Music

Ensure the folder is accessible through SMB.

Open the Sonos app

Go to Settings → System → Music Library → Music Library Setup.

Select Add Shared Music Folder.

Enter the network path

Use either your My Cloud Home name or its IP address, for example:

\\MYCLOUD-XXXXXX\username\Media Files\My Music\

or

\\192.168.1.100\username\Media Files\My Music\

When prompted, enter the SMB username and password you created.

Update the music library

After the share is added, choose Update Music Index Now (or Scan Now) so Sonos can find your music.

"Music Files Not Available": If your final folder name contains spaces (for example, My Music), include a trailing slash (\) at the end of the UNC path.
